Tectonic Interactive, along with Channel 4, Endemol and Chunk, have been nominated for the 2015 BAFTA Awards for digital creativity.
The nomination reflects the ground-breaking nature and success of Channel 4’s “The Singer Takes It All” – the world’s first truly interactive show where viewers decide the fate of contestants as they perform.
The new entertainment format launched to a live audience of 991,000 with a record 15% of the audience interacting live with the show.
Channel 4 multiplatform commissioner for entertainment Jody Smith described The Singer Takes It All’s app as the commercial broadcaster’s “most successful launch”. It was the first show where viewers saw a pay-off instantly on screen. It was truly the first of its kind.
“THE REAL-TIME TV VOTING PLATFORM, PROVIDED BY TECTONIC INTERACTIVE, HANDLED A PEAK OF 22,000 VOTES PER SECOND FROM 142,000 APP USERS. IN TOTAL 2.4 MILLION VOTES WERE CAST THROUGHOUT THE HOUR LONG SHOW.””
