Tectonic Interactive, ITV’s Broadcast Interactive Partner Provides The Voting Platform
Following the successful introduction of in-app voting on The X Factor series 10, this popular service was added to the Britain’s Got Talent app this year.
Viewers were able to vote via the Britain’s Got Talent app on iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches.
During the semi finals, which started on Monday 26th May, the app displayed a range of voting options for the live shows. When the voting window opened viewers were able to cast their vote immediately through the app. The final was broadcast on Saturday 7th June.
Before voting opened each week, fans were able to pre-purchase votes to cast during the voting window. Votes could be purchased one at a time for £0.69 or as packs of 3 votes for £1.49 or 6 votes for £2.99. Viewers could only buy a maximum of six votes at any one time and had to use them all before purchasing more.
ITV selected its broadcast interactive partner, Tectonic Interactive, to develop the in-app vote service. Following the success of in-app voting on The X Factor and web voting on Lorraine’s High Street Fashion Awards, Tectonic Interactive is working with ITV to create new opportunities for ITV viewers to engage with their favourite shows.
It is key for ITV to have robust and reliable platforms when asking the viewing public to interact with our shows. Tectonic have proven themselves to be reliable and consistent in developing this platform and we are delighted to be working in partnership with Tectonic to deliver an engaging and seamless in-app voting experience within this year’s series of Britain’s Got Talent.Ann Cook, Director of ITV Interactive
