Tectonic Interactive, along with Channel 4, Endemol and Chunk, are awarded this year’s IBC Innovation Awards for Content Creation.

To quote IBC
“Three very different projects were contesting the award for most innovative project in content creation, embracing social media, local radio and sports oversight. The winning entry is the UK’s Channel 4 and its talent contest The Singer Takes it All. This was entirely dependent on an app, first to allow the contestants to audition karaoke-style, then for realtime voting on live shows to choose a winner. It was a witty and engaging way to recreate the excitement of live television. Technology partners were Tectonic Interactive, Chunk Digital, Endemol and Electoral Reform Society.”

We are proud to have developed the live interactive technology for the world’s first real-time interactive show. Being recognised by IBC as the most innovative projects out of 170 countries is truly fantastic.Andy Shaw, Tectonic Interactive’s CEO

The Tectonic Platform enables live voting and real-time audience polling for Big Brother UK

Following the success of in-app voting via iOS in 2014, voting was added to the Android app for the January 2015 launch of Celebrity Big Brother.

Via the app, home viewers can now vote to save or evict contestants throughout the series of Celebrity Big Brother on the most popular mobile platforms. In addition, live polling enables the home audience to give their views on issues of the day.

The Tectonic platform is used for both voting and polling on iOS and Android for Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother.

“We introduced live polling and paid in-app voting for Big Brother in summer 2014 using Tectonic Interactive’s platform and, by popular request, we have now extended this to Android.

Tectonic are technically and operationally flawless when handling large-scale interaction and they continue to support Channel 5 with new strategic initiatives.””Melissa Goodwin, Head of Commercial Partnerships, Channel 5
